When you think of "The Price is Right", you usually think of Plinko, that yodeling guy, the words "COME ON DOWN", the Big Wheel used during the Showcase Showdown, and Bob Barker (or Drew Carey... let's leave the syndicated hosts out of the equation this time due to where this is headed) BUT.... what if I told you... MODERN PRICE IS RIGHT WAS A REBOOT BEFORE USING THE TERM "REBOOT" TO DESCRIBE A SHOW COMING BACK WAS A BUZZWORD FOR TV SHOWS & MOVIES    There's a reason season 1 of "modern' Price was called...     Because was a version in the 50s-60s:   Now this one doesn't have all the bells, whistles, and games the modern show has. But it does have what we'd call "Contestants" (or "Bidders") Row in the modern format. In fact, THE FULL GAMEPLAY IS JUST THE 4 PLAYER AUCTIONING THAT WOULD FORM THE BASIS FOR THE ONE-BID QUALIFYING ROUND IN CONTESTANTS/BIDDER'S ROW And sure, it was popular for the time (despi...

MY "NINTENDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017" TRIP - IN MORE DETAIL THAN WHAT A VIDEO SLIDESHOW CAN TELL   Let's start this story a day before the main event, though.  Sure, I was there for a full weekend, but most of day one was just getting familiar with NYC and where the venue is for the tournament we'd be attending.   Speaking of "we" and "us", I'll warn that some IRL friends of the family (or at least one female family-friend and her husband) went along with me to see this piece of Nintendo history in action.   Day two would be the shopping day, and among the places we went was the first multi-story McDonalds I've ever been to (interior pictured)       Other places we shopped at included local stores for tourists and the famed Nintendo New York store (that as of the time this blog post was made, was FINALLY making a counterpart for the West Coast!)   Pardon the use a of a fanmade Price is Right border and backdrop here, I lost the original ...
HOW MY LIFE IS A SEE-SAW (OR A ROLLER COASTER, OR ANYTHING ELSE WITH HIGHS AND LOWS) ALSO KNOWN AS "I MIGHT BE BIPOLAR"     I usually feel chill on most days, but there ARE days where my temper flare up and I EXPLODE with anger for no real reason besides irritability.  When those moments happen, I also tend to ignore any advice given by those nearby despite repeatedly asking for help on those exact things they're giving the advice on.   Today's issue first started when my nearly perma-miserable mood got me put on time out on a Discord server I usually talk in because they're getting sick & tired of my toxic attitude.  I responded that IDK what other attitude to have when most of what i see IS negative in nature and such.  Yes, they do suggest getting off the internet, but I can think of 4 letters that would bring me back in almost immediately when I try to stay offline (or at the very least off Discord/social media) for even a week. FOMO...

R(edacted): Good, good. S: Same, just a slow day for me, Not a BLEEP thing going on for me... That might actually be driving some of the issues that sparked the whole Autism blog i'm doing, btw... R: It's been a slow day for me too. It's the weekend. S: If there's anything good to report on, it's that the Olympics are almost over... meaning normal weeknight TV programming returning (Blogger's Note: this chat was done on the 10th of August, nearing the final weekend of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games) Do you remember how long ago it's been since your Autism diagnosis? R: I was diagnosed when I was 11, so roughly 23 years ago now... It was Asperger's at the time. (BN: He volunteered his age without any coxing) S: I forgot when...
Welcome to the first of what I hope is many talks with people who, like me, deal with Autism.  Knowing the stigma and everything and how some people choose to keep this private altogether, all I'll say is that these are some brave souls that'll brace this blog's chat transcripts. Speaking of, some of these DID want to keep their identities online anonymous, so when we were doing the chat (with me recording via OBS), I moved the to of us to a special Discord server set up for this exact thing.  I also changed their nickname on said server so the display wouldn't give their usual username away and cropped the avatar to where it'd not be on screen (via OBS). This is the first of those chats....   From One Autist to Another: *Blogger's note, my posts will be red, and the other person's will be blue SOME OF THE ORIGINAL TRANSCRIPT FROM THE DISCORD CHAT HAS BEEN EDITED FOR THE SAKE OF THIS BLOG POST Smash: How's your day going so far?
