So.. why do I recommend the way I do on here?

THE GUIDE I USE (FOR THE MOST PART)

When it comes to digital media, especially in places like Youtube and beyond, it can be like playing Minesweeper on thee hardest settings: you'd get reuploads of reuploads that's so bad in quality that by the time you see it, it's un-watchable, or you'd get bait-and-switched (Can anyone say RickRolled?), or redirected to a shady torrent that may or may not contain a virus that'll destroy your computer or put your information at risk.

That is, unless you mainly look for official and official-ajacent channels and licensed content on free streaming sites (like PlutoTV or Tubi).

Now I COULD send you to the big boys (Peacock, Paramount+, Disney+, etc+), but that requires money. Money that not everyone has...in this economy...with gas prices going up the way they are right now as of the date this post is being made...and with the prices OF said services (even for the lower tier WITH ADS)....almost like they're trying to become the thing people are trying to get rid of by going to them to begin with.

Another benefit of Official vs unofficial: unofficial uploads run the risk of copyright takedowns, depending on who owns the show in question (Sony and modern Jeopardy/Wheel of Fortune is a prime example of a company that's always on guard with its IPs). Heck, remember the ORIGINAL AFVCLASSICS uploads of the Saget era and of AFP?  Before ABC said "nope" and before the current FAST push and revitalization of the channel in conjunction with said push?

Another example of a show that is commonly "here to day, gone tomorrow": Nickelodeon Double Dare (had to include the network because of CBS's Double Dare with the late Trebek).  Sure, the first 3 season s are on Paramount+, but beyond that.. it's a scavenger hunt to find episodes (mainly of Super Sloppy and Nick Studios-era Family DD; the Fox FDD is on Amazon and iTunes)

Now I DON'T mind fan uploads if the show in question is from the days of tape wiping and it's assumed the rightsholders don't have access to the episode due to that (70s Wheel of Fortune, Pre-Trebek Jeopardy), so don't think I'd be a snob or a being a choosy beggar.

As for what i consider "official-adjacent"?.  Channels like The Game Show Vault, being run by industry insiders (and formally fronted by Wink Martindale, while he was still alive) and other straight-from-insider sources (like AFVCLASSICS v1)

But with God as my witness, I'LL NEVER RECOMMEND TORRENTS (unless that's how you download from the Internet Archive) because of the risk of viruses and such....and piracy also being in play when you do the torrents you find outside IA.

I mean, unofficial YT uploads are already a gray area, when it comes to piracy and such.

Now, if you excuse me.... i have a plank to walk on... and it seems to be smiling at me (wait, am I in the Ed Edd n Eddy cul-de-sac?)
